Databricks’ main competitors are Google Cloud, and Snowflake (backed by investment from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway).

In January 2022, Databricks asked accelerate agency to help it increase its competitiveness in search against its well-funded rivals.

After a review and analysis of Databrick’s SEO position, the accelerate team and Databricks jointly decided to prioritize the acquisition of high quality backlinks.

While new links were being secured, the accelerate team also began creating new content, and optimizing existing content, on databricks.com.

What we did

With high quality backlinks the immediate priority, the outreach team swung into action with a targeted campaign. This quickly produced dozens of content placement opportunities with highly relevant domains, which our editorial team rapidly began to fulfill.

After six months, 186 links have been published, with another 320 scheduled for publication. The most notable links acquired so far are:

While backlinks have been a priority, extensive work has been lined up for improving the SEO performance of databricks.com. This includes 15 rounds of glossary optimizations, 4 new glossary pages, and 10 new landing pages.

Results
